Who are we?

We are a unity of volunteers; made up of cryptographers, programmers, hackers, mathematicians, engineers, and developers - all drawn together by a shared vision of protecting civil liberties online. We are a social enterprise registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC), and exist to benefit the online community rather than any private shareholders. Our goal is to build tools that respect privacy and are secure against cyberattacks. We are committed to developing, and widely distributing, the apparatus necessary to protect your data online. We have a shared passion for privacy, and a common goal in enabling others to protect and preserve their fundamental human rights.

What is CryptKey?

CryptKey is a new mobile application, and the first of its kind. It provides an easy to use secure communication service with built-in end-to-end encryption and state of the art security features. Our app goes far beyond conventional design by introducing an enitirely new element of technology into our security architecture known as 'bio-hacking'. Crucial to this design is a tiny RFID transponder implant, easily inserted into the web of the hand between the thumb and index finger, and readable from any NFC enabled mobile device. This attribute, which requires no battery, then acts as a convenient wireless form of physical authentication between the implanted transponder and any NFC enabled devices. When used in conjunction with our app, nobody can access your data except you.

Who would use CryptKey?

We expect some might take issue with surgically inserting a foreign object into their body, and so we expect this concept might not yet appeal to everyone. However, we believe the right to privacy should not be prejudicial. Although the general public fall into our target audience, we expect CryptKey will most likely appeal to those with a serious interest in protecting their private data. This could include anyone from dissidents and investigative journalists, to government employees or whistleblowers.
